In Memory

Each stone carver had his own graphic style within the evolving New England historical themes, which can be found repeated amongst the markers in a given cemetery or locality. To our twenty-first century eyes, this craftsman’s rendition of the traditional death’s head motif might appear whimsical rather than solemn.
