    • There is an area alongside the coastal highway, just north of Wallis Sands State Park in Rye, NY where people build and rebuild stone cairns on top of the boulders between tides, using the nearby rubble. It’s the last pull-off on the ocean side (of course!) before the road leaves the immediate water’s edge, as it approaches Odiorne Point Park. The high tides and waves knock the sculptures down twice a day, then they are rebuilt by the next visitors. It’s an ephemeral and ever-evolving art happening… Enjoy!
